My husband works in one of the schools systems here in town- before school let out he was talking to a teacher that stated, "most kids will forget 25-50% of what they learned in school over the summer".
Wow!
That just seems crazy to me! I am no teacher by any means but that number is high. So, because I do have older kids visiting me, I try to have activities that help them keep up on some of their skills.
I saw these posters and I loved them- they had to read the statements then write their answers. And it fit perfectly into our theme this week. Hopefully by doing fun little projects everyday, these kids will stay up on their skills for school!
