fun things to share

Poor little Mia wasn't feeling well this weekend, she didn't react too well to being on milk only...
After being up only an hour Sunday morning, she fell back asleep with her daddy.
A b-day present I made for a daycare mom. I had been to my BFF's Dawn Stampin Up workshop where we made bigger versions of these. I liked the concept so I scaled it down to a 5x7 picture frame... I thought it was cute!
Saturday morning, I kept hearing a clanking sound from Mia's room, I walked in to find Mia playing with her bottle. She has it on her arm and was throwing her arm back against her crib. I guess she was bored and ready to get out!
It isn't really all about Mia... I promise... but I have forgotten how stinkin' cute baby leg warmers are. We ordered them for her last Christmas but she was too bony to keep them up. Now she has some weight on her thighs, she can wear them with pride. It worked out great since it was a cooler morning today!!! Just look at those fat little legs!!!

Preschool Time...

Our new way of working on letter of the week...
We sit together at the table and each person has their own ABC workbook (to help cut down the cost of printing) and we do a page each week. I then write some notes about the time at the table and when we finish the book, moms and dads will have it sent home and can see their progress. They are off to a wonderful start! This is only for my kids 3 and up...
Today we worked on "Our Book of Friends" today. Each child now has a decorated book with the pictures of our friends from daycare in it. The names are written above each picture to help with letters and names.
We used fun art supplies like makers, crayons, and stickers...
And, one last picture of the girls club. On Friday we are losing one of the girls. The little ladies in the picture all have birthdays between Aug-Oct.! SO very close in age and the best of friends!!!

Gracie turns 2

Gracie's b-day party at daycare... we made her a birthday crown!

Singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles...
We had all sorts of goodies to decorate our cupcakes with... fun times!

touching...

was our topic today! We made some fun touch/feel posters with our hands and textures around the house!
We used Velcro, felt, cotton, pip cleaners and eyes (for smooth).

I thought the posters came out really cute...
Up close... fun times at daycare!

The peanut is starting to show...

Soon I hope to have some questions answered about our 4th lil' peanut! I am excited and nervous to see what this weeks appointments will hold. I am already starting to notice changes in my body which this time around are so bittersweet.

Here is a pre- preggers picture at my lightest weight (still not at my goal, but that will just have to wait for a while now). This was in May, one month before we found out about #4. Yikes, I am still adjusting to that number!!! =)
And... this was taken today! (still don't know how many weeks I am) And Now...there is a sticky out part on my belly where my abs used to be but are now not!Oh well, I lost the weight before, I can certainly do it again!

The thing that seems to be different with this lil' one is that I am not throwing up as much, just sick to my stomach. The morning sickness seems to go away much faster esp. on the mornings my darling hubby doesn't roast his coffee! I have had horrible cravings... everything I have limited myself to while dieting is coming back to haunt me. So, while I am trying to still eat better, the cravings sometimes, okay, most of the time win!

I have already gained 10lbs. which is something I have never done with G, K, or M. So, I am praying I am father along then I really am, just so I can justify the weight, or I am gonna be in big, big trouble!
Hope to have more info and details after this week... stay tuned!

Today we move on to another letter, another theme, and another friend...
Ah, what??? Yep! We had a new friend join our daycare family!
Little P is coming to join in on our preschool activities

Today was her first day here... and she has done great! With the way she jumped into activities and our routine, you would have thought she'd been here for years! Such a wonderful addition to our group!
Outside we had a job... we played "I spy" since we are talking about our 5 senses this week. Here are the kids looking for things to coming and "report" back to me on.
Here is my little girls club... they sat at this table for a while chatting and giggling!
And, here was our list that we made of the things we SAW with our eyes today!!!

playing catch up today...

Back to school time has started for my girls and at my daycare also. This week we have been busy, and I am tired! But... this year we have some fun new things to add to our daily routine.

I have added one on one preschool time... We have a workbook we are doing all of our pages from this year to help chart and record progress...
Everyone loves music time...
Our old friends...
and new ones...

And today....

As we wrapped up "All about me " week, we did a fun activity. The kids laid on the table and I traced their bodies. I cut them out and they color and decorate them.

The kids thought this was "so cool" because they got to climb on the table...
Then, they laughed at how their body looked on paper...
Then we giggled because I was tickling them as I traced them...
And then, they commented about how "big the looked" on paper...

A is for apple

As I stated before preschool activities have started for my older group of kids. The younger one get to participate as they can/want.

Each week we will have a letter of the week. Of course, we started with "A". And what is the easiest image for A... apples! So we ran with it.

This week we played in shaving cream. Not only did we play with shaving cream, we played with Apples in shaving cream...why??? Um, I really don't know, but they made really cool stamps and we had apple shapes all over the table. So, I am really sure that it became educational at some point!
Our next activity was our cooking time... we made apple upside down cake. This was interesting. When I make cake, it comes from a box... not this time, we used flour, butter, sugar...the real stuff to make the cake from start to finish. I had helpers more everything in, stir and peel apples. It took us almost an hour but we had a blast doing it. Plus, we had our afternoon snack ready to go.
Yummy! Okay, I will be honest... it wasn't the great of cakes, but everyone loved it just the same. I actually ended up cutting part of the cake top off so we could eat the apples and brown sugar... now that was the yummy part! But, we get an "A" for effort. (hey, and A for A week...get it??) Okay, moving on!
Along with talking about letters and numbers we try to have a theme. This weeks theme is all about me. Today we decorated mirrors/frames and on the top they said, "I am so special". With this project they could have cared less about the decorating part, they just LOVED that they could see themselves in the mirror. But, they still managed to stop looking at their reflection long enough to make the frames pretty! It was very cute!

Mia is 1 year old...

Saturday we had a huge cupcake themed party to celebrate our little girl turning one!
We had friends and family over to eat cake, bounce on the moonwalk, and socialize.
The weather was great and we had an awesome turnout!!!

Our little cupcake... in her birthday outfit!
The view of our party... lots of people and lots of fun!
After the party... Mia was ready for her nap, she was done with this party business! But LOVED the doll that mom and dad gave her... we did good!
After her nap, what better way to celebrate but to cause your one year old more pain... and that is what we did. We took her out to the mall and got her ears pierced. This was Mia after getting on side done. Notice, I am not the big meanie parent holding her through this painful process... I was there after to make her feel all better! =) I love how she is giving the lady a mean look, like, "you did this to me".

After her ears were done we took the one year old to eat at her favorite restaurant... Texas Roadhouse. She gobbled up green beans, potatoes, rolls, hot dog, and 2 scoops of birthday ice cream! It was the best birthday dinner ever... I mean, for a one year old!
Mia (and us) are very blessed. She received a lot of new fall outfits, shoes, and books. She is gonna be a stylish girl this fall!
Today was our first day of Preschool...at daycare! We are back on routine, lessons planned, and art ready to go! Taking from what I learned over the summer and what I like to have planned, we have some fun days in store this fall!

Today we made a "our daycare family" poster. This helps let everyone know that they belong and it was a group project that they worked on forever without fighting...gotta love those times!
Our finished product...
After circle time and sensory boxes, the older kids wanted to stamp...
so they did!

We had a great first dayback to school...

this and that...

Gaby's 2nd day of school outfit... she just finished saying, "mom are you going to take a picture of me everyday?". Hum... I might just have too... She is really a great kid! I know it is all God's work because if it were because of my parenting, she be so much worse!!! When I asked Gaby about her new 2nd grade teacher, she replied, "now I know how her attitude is, I think I like her".
KK is starting her 2nd year of dance... last night was her first lesson! Too cute!
I have been shopping around for new daycare blankets. I really needed some new ones since my others were going on 4 years old. Every time I priced out some cute ones, they were running about 10.00, which really isn't bad but still ain't cheap when I needed 8 of them. So, this week at Target, these 10.00 blankets were on sale for 6.00. SCORE! So, they are my new daycare blankets!!!

This morning I cleaned out my purse because it was weighing a ton and now I know why... here is all the crap, I mean stuff, that I pulled out. Mia's shoes, bib, plastic spoons, straws, Gaby's wheels from her shoes, trash, hair ties, ect. Now, my purse is nice and clean and ready to be switched over for fall soon!

yesterday's dress up fun...
