Friday Field Day

During the summer we are doing Friday Fun Days and Terrific Thursdays.
This week we did field day events to wrap up our sports theme.

Our first event was basket toss. We had to see how many baskets we could make in 10 seconds, 30 seconds and 1 minute.

Our second event were relays... first up was hula hoops.
Even the little ones had fun!
After our relays we had a water race with water balls. After we were finished racing, we all got a little wet! Our field day was a hit!

random thoughts...

Summer is in full swing around here... next week some of the kids' schdule for daycare will be different, we added some new friends, and we getting ready for some real fun.

Yesterday I made labels for cubbies and helper badges. I have an older group that will really like doing the help/job thing so we are running with it.

We had Kendal's 4mo check up yesterday and it was pretty discouraging. She is my longest breastfed baby. Our Dr was less then supportive when she saw her stats. Kenni is 10lbs 9oz (3%) and 17% for height. Our Dr asked that I start waking her up at night to feed her again (she has been sleeping through the next for 1 1/2 days now), and to do weekly visits at the clinic again! Just a little frustrated I guess!

We bought a small pool tonight... every summer we get some type of pool, water toys or something for the girls. They live in the water during summer break. They are also looking forward to swim lessons at the end of July!

I am obsessed with watching the reruns of Beverly Hills 90210. Tonight they had Matthew Perry on before he was on Friends. Funny to relive all the drama of West Bev High. I heart Brandon. Growing up I was even in the fan club!

Gaby's softball team played in their first tournament this past weekend and they rocked it. They won all three games and played in the final game for 1st place. They did end up in 2nd but they have come a long way since last year!
Kadyn played softball last night. She is hitting off the pitcher which is huge for her- she always ended up on the tee last year! Last night she made it back home for 2 scores! Go Peaches!

Dustin is getting ready for July 3rd (the new July 4th) party. He is picking everything up Saturday!

This weekend I will be hitting some daycare projects pretty hard! I have been to a few sales and spent my grant money. Here is a sneak preview of one of my goodies... It has all of the concepts that we discuss during circle time. I am excited about this! I'll post more after this weekend!

Gearing up for summer...

We are practicing for events for our "Peanut Gallery Field Day"...

We have our flavor ice frozen...

We have our old toys rotated out and new ones are in...
We are making fun crafts for our sports theme this week...
And we have our sun hats decorated...

Yep! We are gearing up for summer!

Meet our new friends...

We have some new faces hanging out with us during our summer...

J doesn't like pictures... or smiling, that is what he said when I was taking his picture!
H is returning! I had her last summer and then she left for kindergarten.
T is J's twin. She is very outgoing and loves to play with Mia and Kendal!

I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of our new friends on the blog! We are excited to have them hanging out with us while school is out!
Gaby's Field Day at SHES!

Last Friday I had the day off from daycare. We spent the morning at the kids' school to watch them participate in feild day activities! After it was over, we pulled Gaby out out school for a fun afternoon at home. We ate lunch at McDonald's, went shopping for daycare toys, and just hung out!

One of the popular events... water games!
dodge ball type of game
tug of war
I really don't know what this is, put it looks really cool.

SHES does an awesome job at making this day flow without any troubles. What a fun time for the kids the families!

Our night started out...

at our church, with these 2 guys singing "head over feet" by Alanis Morissette. This is/was our song from when Dustin and I were dating. Our evening was perfect. About a month ago, Dustin and I asked our worship pastor Bryan Nelson and pastor Jim Congdon to perform a small, intimate ceremony for our 10 year anniversary.

I still can not stop smiling... looking back on our last 10 years together, we have laughed so much, we have loved so much, we have cried so much, and we have grown so much! I never knew I could love someone so much with all of myself and be loved as much as I am. Dustin has given me all I could ever ask for.

We started our ceremony by listening to our song. It was such an awesome feeling to listen to the words that tell the story and feelings that we felt and still feel.

Jim performed our original ceremony at Topeka Bible Church May 19th, 2000. Tonight he started out by looking over our wedding program that he saved along with his notes from 10 years ago. It was amazing!

Where were you 10 years ago??? I was right here, holding Dustin's hand, trying to get through my vows without crying. What was I doing tonight??? I was right here, holding Dustin's hand, trying to get through my vows without crying.

After we were finished, we went to my all time favorite place to eat... Olive Garden! We took some goofy pictures, enjoyed our food, had great conversation and we didn't have to ask for crayons.

And, this is where it all started. Our first date was at the lake (on Dustin's b-day). On the way home we stopped at the gazebo and had an "anniversary" dance. Okay, at the risk of getting too cheese whiz on you... it was great! At our wedding reception (10 years ago, have I mentioned that?) we never got to dance to "Head over feet". Our DJ forgot the cd. So, tonight we played the song and danced to it.
It was a great feeling. For one split moment I was taken out of the world of being a mommy and it was about Dustin and I. Just the two of us. Holding him tight, looking into his eyes, seeing his smile... these are just a few things that I have been blessed to experience everyday of my life for the past 10 years.

To say I married my best friend, just does not give Dustin the credit he so deserves. I married much, much more! Cheers to 10 years baby!
Head over Feet...

I had no choice but to hear you
You stated your case time and again
I thought about it

You treat me like I'm a princess
I'm not used to liking that
You ask how my day was

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

Your love is thick and it swallowed me whole
You're so much braver than I gave you credit for
That's not lip service

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

You are the bearer of unconditional things
You held your breath and the door for me
Thanks for your patience

You're the best listener that I've ever met
You're my best friend
Best friend with benefits
What took me so long

I've never felt this healthy before
I've never wanted something rational
I am aware now
I am aware now

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

Then and Now...

10 years ago... I married my best friend!

10 years later, I renewed my vows to my best friend.

Graduation Party

Today we celebrated 4 kids that I have had the pleasure in working with. I had some some just for a year and others for over 3 years. Today we made tee-shirts that say, "Preschool class of 2010". Each kiddo decorated their own shirt then on the back we wrote our names on them.

Our morning was a blast; it was loud, we were hyper, and we had lots of fun. After we worked on our shirts, we taped our graduation song. Some of the kids brought snacks to share... we had lots of goodies to eat. We had meat and cheese, fruit, brownies, cookies, and drinks!

We ended our morning with a favorite movie and hanging out with our friends! I know I will miss my peanuts. I wish them the best of luck as they start Kindergarten.

Our shirts...

Putting our own touch on them...

My giggling group of graduates...
And the back... all their handwritten names, Priceless!

random thoughts...

This is a super duper busy week... softball, my friend is having a baby, graduation party for daycare, dance practices for recital, making some meals for friends, 10th anniversary... this is all on top of our normal work/life week! I hope I can keep up with my calendar! Geez!

Last night we had chicken burritos, rice, and cantaloupe. We ate an entire cantaloupe at one meal... crazy! That is good but it is still crazy!

Have I mentioned we are having a party? For my peanuts that are going to kindergarten? I am excited... any reason to eat, dance, celebrate and give gifts.
This is my kiddos goodie bag for our last official day of preschool". I think they'll like it!
Ants are everywhere... this happens very year, all around our neighborhood. It still drives me nuts. I am excited the bug guy is coming tomorrow to make my house ant free again! Yuck!

I am waiting, not so well, I might add for my grant info. If I got it, how much, if my purchases are approved... I am not a good waiter by any means. God is probably laughing at me right now because I suck at waiting!

I do like taking feet pictures. (of babies and kids- adult feet are just yucky)
Here is Mia sporting her new sandals. I just loved them and Mia is proving to be my shoe kid! Which will probably be in her favor since I love to buy shoes... that's my girl!

I am still nursing miss Kendal. I was asked about it at a party this weekend. When I said yes, I was told, "wow, the money you are saving by not using formula". Then I started thinking...not really. Breastfeeding is just as costly if not more... there are the boob pads so you won't leek, milk storage bags, More Milk Plus supplement, nursing bras, and a pump. Now, I know that the bras and pumps I don't buy every month but the rest I do... so really, I am just doing it because I love this kid, not because it is cheaper!

I finally ordered snap shot pictures of Kendal, scrapbooking supplies, and now I am ready to slowly start working on this girls' album!

I am so excited about Date Night this Thursday! D and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! We are going out and the kids are staying with my in laws so we can do dinner! I even bought a dress. I haven't done that in forever!

Kenni is sporting some new hair accessories. Mia has a brown hat like this one, I am in love with them! I only have one for her- I made myself stop. But she looks so cute.
And she'll be sporting these fun hair extras when we get Family pictures taken in June!

This picture was taken at my sister in laws high school graduation. Kenni was the talk of the town there! Lot's of fun and family time.

I am looking into getting some Reebox shape up shoes. As much as I am on my feet running around, why shouldn't I get a tight booty in the process. We'll see... I have a coupon and I am going back and fourth on the purchase!

I am off on Friday! Gaby has field day at school and then I will have the afternoon to relax and spend time with the younger 3 girls. Hard telling what we'll do! Maybe tap a nap! =)

Well, I guess that is enough rambling for one day! Happy Monday!

Small group cook out...

This past Friday was spent with our small group from our church. There are 5 couples that meet every other Tuesday for a bible study and fellowship. All of our kids hang out downstairs at our leaders house and we have a highschooler come and watch them all for a couple of hours. It's a great set up!

Once every couple of months, we have a social. We take turns hosting events like game night, cook outs ect.
This is our small group... (we are missing one couple and a wife-they were sick)
Our kids are growing up together making friendships along the way...
One of the high lights is the tracker ride, the dad driving the tracker is Kendal too. We stole his name for our baby. He was okay with that!
Even Baby Kendal had fun at her first cook out!!!
