Outer Space... and beyond

This week we are wrapping up our summer themes with Outer Space week.

Today we made a space scene using stickers of astronauts, space ships, stars and planets.

Then the older kids read "mission to mars" and "Space kid" to the little ones. (Some of the little ones are losing interest by the time I took the picture, we started out strong though).

Then we talked about what we would weigh on the moon. If we would be heavy or light and if objects would float or sink. To illustrate this point, we made "moon balls" aka crumbled pieces of paper, and we made a game. We tried to make baskets using the weightless moon balls.
