Sleep Tight...
We are on week two of our theme, "Sleep Tight". It's a cute little unit on bedtime routines, moon/stars, daytime/nighttime, and more. Today we talked about our special "things" we need to sleep. Like blankets, teddy bears, pillows, or stuffed animals.
We talked about our new letter this week. We are trucking right along with letter, "I". Before circle time we went on an "I" hunt.

Two months later and I am still singing the praises of our Funshine Lessons. I really love the teacher resources it gives me to help our peanuts learn. Today we learned, "Ten in the Bed". We had a poster and 10 children that we used. At first, I did the subtracting of the children on our poster but at the end of our lesson, the kids were helping me.
Our book of the week... a sweet little book about how the animals and children wake up. It has bright pictures and fun word patterns. Lots of fun things to talk to the kids about.
My name in stars... one of our art activities.
The peanuts also colored a comfy bed and glued on paper squares to make a quilt so they would sleep tight!
My littlest peanut... I couldn't get her to look at me for nothing. She loved grabbing the toys in the saucer this morning! She was cooing and talking this morning- she is getting so big.
Children's Choir
Our church offers a Children's Choir, it is for 1st grade- 6th grade. The kids practiced 3 times so they could sing on a Sunday morning. They had a fun little CD to listen to in between practices to learn their parts and the words.
Gaby had tried this one year but it wasn't for her-not sure why since she loves music so much. However Kadyn jumped on the chance to join. I love that Kadyn and Gaby have such different interest.
Kadyn after the 1st service. On Sunday, the kids had to be at church ready to go by 7:15am so they could run through all the worship songs with the band. They also got to sing for all 3 services. It was a long but awesome morning.

My little shorty was on the front row...
Trying not to smile too much... she was focused on getting the words right!
Gaby and Kadyn... after the kids sung at the first service, we headed to the gym where the choir parents provided breakfast for the kids and the families.
Nice little set up!
Taking a break between meals...
Thanks goodness this fell on day light saving time- Dustin and I were up at 5:45am to get 7 people up, dressed, and out the door by 6:50am. I am so not a morning person so this task was not an easy one- okay, enough complaining- it was a great morning and I loved watching Kadyn singing and giving glory to God!
Short and sweet... 12x
Should I say one more time, I am having blogging issues? This is the 12x I have tried to post this. This time, it will be short and sweet so I can move on from Halloween. I am a little over it now that I have blogged it like 800 times! :)
Dustin and his friends from work all dressed up as the Geek Squad. They are the IT department which makes it that much cuter.
Let me just say, if this was what showed up at my door if I called the GS, I would be calling with issues every day. He is a little bit of a hottie... okay, sorry! Lost my thought there!

My little WU cheerleader. Each of my peanuts have been a WU cheerleader at some point. This is the year for Kendal! She was pretty cute and I love that her hair is long enough to pull up in a pony tail. She looks older!
My favorite girls... ready to trick or treat!
We skipped out on our normal trunk or treats, we did go to one up the street then walked the neighborhood. The kids really loved going door to door. It was neat to see how many kids were out walking around. Gaby and Kadyn had a blast- they kept guessing on which house would hand out "good candy". Mia really got into it and was picky about what she grabbed. Kendal just sat in the wagon and opened everything she got.
As a joke, we weighed the kids' bags after the night was over... total, they have over 7 pounds of candy. Unfortunately, I think I added their 7 pounds to my butt and hips. I have no will power.
Party time for the school peanuts
I was so thrilled when the kids agreed to make their own Halloween attire. This day has become such a money drain in the past and we were trying to come up with fun costumes the kids could help with and not spend a ton of money. I am trying my hardest this year to become more thrifty- so here is what we came up with!
Gaby was a pirate. Her class had a theme, they had to be a TV/movie character... so she wanted to do Jack Sparo (?). I was game for it. Her total cost was under 10.00 thanks to the goodwill store! She was very excited to put this together herself!

Kadyn wanted to be a Queen. We borrowed the dress from a friend, and dolled her up a little. The dress was beautiful. Her friend's mom made it. She loved looking so dressed up. Her cost was a little higher due to the crown. Still under 15.00! Go Queen Kk!
Kk and her 1st grade buddies...
Gaby and her 4th grade friend, K.
Walking in the school parade...
Gaby's TV frame...
Gaby and her teacher... Mr. T
Will this work??? Blog troubles... still!
Trying to catch up on Halloween, we will see if the blogging gods are on my side.
Here is a snap shot view of our Halloween party. We had a mom and dad come and help out with our party last week. The kids loved it. Mr. Mike played "Pumpkin Says" with the kids. It was a fun treat to have them join us.

We went digging in worms aka cold noodles for treasures. The kids had to do it wearing fun glasses. It was a spooky fun game!
They found spiders, bracelets, and rings...
Then we played a pumpkin game. The kids took turns taping the eyes and mouth on our homemade pumpkin. Simple games are a lot of fun at this age.
We decorated spooky Halloween cookies then had chips and cheese for breakfast, I mean, snack. And maybe even lunch! We had lots of great treats...
