fall pictures....halloween style!

This past weekend we did a mini picture session with Christina!
She had an awesome Halloween scene that she put together entirely on her own and in her house.
The girls were going to rock their Halloween costumes but they did not get ordered in time (not sure who dropped the ball on that) so we did our orange and black gear! I think I like this look better then if they were all dressed up!
My gaggle of girls...

Miss Gaby... sporting some awesome socks and hair (thanks Aunt Kara).

My poser, Kadyn

My space cadet, Mia!

All smiles... for about 5 seconds. Go Kenni!

A little bit of everything...

We started our day by gluing rectangle shapes on our paper. We went over our colors as we made our colorful art.

Our big new thing is using glue. If our project calls for glue, I have been giving each child a little plate of their own with it on there. I know this doesn't sound like a huge thing but it is for us!

Next we headed outside for our movement time... it really is no joke when I say my backyard/deck is my outside classroom. We do art, reading time, music, free play and much more outside as much as we can, and today was no different!

While using the hula hoops we worked on some gross motor skills. The hula hoops were our driving wheels as we drive through oil, rough roads, ect. Each "section" we drove through was a different gross motor skill.

We made a simple lunch and the kids helped me out. We picked out some items we could make into rectangles. C is showing off our rectangular sandwich and wafers.

We ended the morning with a nice lunch outside with our friends.

Gary's Berries

Sunday afternoon our church hosted our annual fall festival. A church family owns Garry's Berries and lets us take it over for free, eat dinner for a cheap donation, and do all the attractions they have. It was a great night of fall fun for the Fluke's.

First stop was the corn pit... it was a nice sized square that was filled with nothing but corn. Mia wasn't sure what to do in it.

We moved on to this huge bouncy pillow type thing. It was huge. You climb up on it and bounce your heart out. All the girls loved doing this. Mia finally climbed up to the top and bounced her way down. It was pretty tough getting the kids off of this.

They also had a big tire/sand/dirt/climbing thing... sorry I don't know what the real term for it is. We all were a dirty mess after this stop.

Dustin and Gaby walked across the tires... their surfing pose!

(a little out of order) We finished up looking at pumpkins and having snack. The girls and I waited for Dustin as he brought the van up to use. We had some worn out kids (and we still had to get Kenni from Grandma Dee's).

GB's has a huge corn maze. This was our first time going as a family and only my second time. We started out with another family from our small group. As the kids got more tired and it got darker, we had to push to get out of there. We turned and lost our friends but made it out fairly shorty after. Which was good because Gaby was starting to melt down because we were still in the maze and it was pretty dark at this point. Here is our "we made it" picture- Gaby was not so happy!

Never to old for a piggy back ride... walking around GB's. We had a wonderful fall day.
Seeing how tall the girls were... always a fun tradition!
Mia and Mommy swinging as we wait for Gaby to finish the slides.
We also went on a tracker ride. It went all around the GB's farm and pumpkin patch. We didn't get pumpkins this time, but certainly enjoyed our ride. We even ran into some friends from school. The girls were excited to sit with their friends.

We had a great night! If you haven't been to Garry's Berries- I highly recommend taking a ride out there. Check the website, I know you can get coupons for admission.
This weeks theme is squirrels and nuts. We actually have a week of awesome fall weather to use with our theme... I am excited!

Our story of the week is,"Under the Apple Tree". It is a great welcome into the fall season, has beautiful fall pictures, and cute story plot!
One of our centers today was our good ol' wooden blocks. One of our favorite things to play and actually teaches so many things. Sharing, team work (if they build together), motor skills, and of course communication (asking for a block vs taking a block). Who knew???
We moved to our squirrel art project. Our poor old pet had no fur on it and it was very very cold. We made fur from crumpled up tissue paper and glued it on.
Our furry little friend...

Thanks for checking on what we have been doing... check back for more fall fun!

Friday's Favorite Pictures...

My cheese-ball Mia in her new "Puggle" shirt from Awana's...
I still ask her everyday, "Mia are you a puggle?" Just so I can I hear, "I'm a puggle!".
Gaby playing around with the coconut....
Kadyn wanted to stay home from school so she could help bust open the coconut...
This would not be a favorite but what I had to deal with this morning... Kenni and her poop! All over her white pants, go figure!

Our coconut tree snack...

We ended our week on a sweet note. We read our book one last time as we ate our awesome coconut tree snacks.

Just using wafers, grapes, and apple slices... so cute and yummy!
All of our friends enjoyed our snack... even today's today's helper E.
